Howdy All,

We were informed today that the public transportation workers would be going on strike and found our first train leg to get to Italy has been cancelled, so this morning I had to scramble and find an alternative. I booked a cheap flight, but so far we aren't 100% positive everything is confirmed for the morning *shrug*. We've got a taxi picking us up at 5:45 am to get us there on time... so it should be interesting :D.

That took up much of the morning, and as today was our last day here and it was nice weather we tried to not waste it. We took the metro over to the Eiffel Tower and walked around there for a bit. There are French soldiers walking around everywhere in most of the public monuments because of the tennis matches going on (I guess it's a heightened terror alert type thing).

From there we walked to the Arc de Triumph. It is big. That's about all I can say about that as we didn't climb to the top or anything :D.

Lastly we jumped on the metro to check out Sacre Coeur. Amanda ate a ton of cheese, I mean a concerning amount really, for lunch the we were harassed by some pidgins. Then we climbed the steps to get to the top of the hill at the Sacre Coeur, but not before getting harassed by some street scammers. Amanda has gotten to be a pro at handling them at this point, so we got passed them and made our way to the top. From here we had a really great view of the city along with music from some local band. Not too shabby.

We shall see how tomorrow goes, but one way or another we will get to Rome. Not sure if I will have an internet connection until we get back, so if you don't hear from us don't fret ;)
