We had a guided tour at Versailles today that was pretty awesome, especially so because of the perfect weather. We had to meet at a cafe in Paris where we got our group together. The group ended up being pretty small (8 people) and we found out that our guide has been living in France for the past 2 years, but is originally from Chicago. Leaving the station Amanda turned around and pointed out our very first sight of the Eiffel Tower.

The guided part of the tour was through the gardens and is where we spent most of our time. Leading up to the tour we didn't know anything about Versailles, but the guide was excellent and really helped visualize everything and put it in perspective.

After the garden tour we got to skip the big line into the palace. We were given audio guides and able to walk around at our own pace. Inside it was pretty packed, and there is so much to look at that you can't really look at everything. Still, it was amazing to see.

We decided to eat dinner at a little park next to our hotel. After being outside for only a few minutes I was once again pooped on by a bird. I'm pretty sure the birds in America somehow have passed on the word to the birds here and now they are poop stalking me.

I've attached some of the photos from today. Tomorrow morning we have another tour around the Louvre. It's scheduled to rain and be colder over the next two days, so not sure if we will be walking around after our activities or finding something else to do.
