We didn't have much planned today, just a lot of walking to explore Rome. We started by walking to the Pantheon. Inside is amazing, but it's one big room so there isn't a ton of things to explore. It did have Raphael's tomb in it though, so that was cool after seeing his work at the Louvre and Vatican.

From there we walked to Piazza Navona which is a big open square with 3 big fountains and statues (this is the level of detail we had since we didn't have a guide). We ended up having lunch here sitting outside right by the road.

We walked north and saw Saint Angelo's castle from the outside. Then we walked up the river and then East to see the Spanish steps. The steps were actually closed off as it looks like workers were cleaning and repairing them to make it into a monument of sorts. At the bottom of the steps is a fountain where we sat and watched people fill up their water bottles.

Speaking of which... throughout Rome are constantly running fountains where anyone in Rome can fill up their water bottles for free. Even if you haven't drank all your water it's nice to refill your bottle with cold water in the hot heat.

Tomorrow is our last full day. We are going on a tour of the Colosseum as well as the Roman forum and Palatine hill. Should be exciting ;)
