What day is it? I don't even know anymore! We arrived it Ireland yesterday. Border protection was super backed up (we barely left the plane before getting stuck in the non-EU line). Took an hour and a half to get through there. You know it's bad when when the EU citizens were commenting on it as they walked on by.

The bus ride from Dublin was mostly uneventful. They let us ride the bus an hour late, so we didn't need to buy new tickets. It was a bit longer of a walk to where we are staying than I anticipated (1.5 miles), but still not terrible...

We ate at a place called The travelers inn last night. As our very first dinner here, we didn't really know what to expect. In front of the door there was a good 6 or 7 Irish men all smoking a cigarette. Making our way through them (a bit carefully I might add) we found ourselves in the middle of a bar with no idea what to do. Do we sit anywhere, is there a saved seat we shouldn't sit at, where is the menu??? Finally I bit my tongue and walked up to the bar to find out what exactly we needed to do in this fine establishment. We were shown to the wall where the menu was written. I had my first Guinness of Ireland, Amanda had her cider, and after eating we called it a night.

Today was our first full day here in Ireland, and we had a late start at it. We both needed the sleep and it wasn't until 3pm that we were ready to make the journey to the city center. It's about a 30 minute walk if you go at a good pace, but we took our sweet time. Things as simple as crossing the street become a more complex task as I have to force myself to look at the traffic differently to understand where the danger is coming from at any given moment.

We walked around the main city area for a bit taking in all the sites. Dipped our head into a mall really quickly to check it out and took a walk next to the river. We got dinner at a random place Amanda picked out and got really full hungrily finishing all of our food. We also had a bit to drink, enough so that I forgot the small backpack I was wearing when we left (forcing us to make a 10 minute detour to go back and pick it back up). Another lovely day.

Tomorrow we hop on a bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher and take a ferry to the Aran Islands. Hoping for good weather as this is probably what I'm looking forward to the most ;)
