Hey All,

Today we went to St. Paul's Cathedral and were completely blown away by what we saw. We spent a large chunk of the day walking around the main floor listening to an audio tour. They don't let you take pictures inside, so unfortunately you will need to Google to get an idea of the inside. They let you climb to the very top of the tower, so of course we had to give that a try. I forget how many stairs it was, but it had to be around 500. First a large spiral staircase that went up a few hundred feet to the interior of the dome. You walk around the edge of that to come to a stone circular staircase that goes up another 200 or so steps that brings you to an outside level. The walls and ceiling narrow at the very end and I could barely squeeze through as both my shoulders were scraping the walls. After that it was another 100 steps up a few iron circular stairs to get to the very top. We snuck a few photos from the stairs, though I wish I took some showing the standing situation on the very top... there's a iron rail around the entire outside and there's maybe two feet of room between that and the wall at your back. Definitely got me dizzy, but Amanda handled it like a champ so I took a picture of her up there.

After St. Paul's we checked out The house of Parliament and Westminster during the day. We just managed to miss the end of tours at Westminster so had to settle for looking at the outside.

Also, our pub tour guide from Tuesday emailed us a street in London that JK Rowling used as the inspiration for Diagon Alley... so we hopped on the tube to check it out. We ended up circling the block just to find the tiny alley but Amanda was pleased we find it.

Tomorrow we leave London for Paris on the Eurostar, hopefully the 4 words of French we both know will keep us from getting treated too terribly ;)
